CONTEXT designed and documented the landscape works for the Library, Graduate House and Academic House, St Pauls College. The project was a multidisciplinary effort involving architects, landscape architects, engineers, arborists and heritage consultants.
The project required new landscape to complement the character and quality of the existing heritage setting, and enhance the building and college. The College explored interim development options which incorporated scenarios where the Library was a stand alone development and where the Library was to be developed in conjunction with Academic House.
The first scenario involved permanent and interim landscape works to integrate with existing site levels, footpaths and proposed building works on adjacent sites. The interim works for Academic House would integrate seamlessly with the or the library and the adjacent Oval. The scope also included the Oval and tennis court area adjacent to City Road.
The completed landscape works seamlessly integrate the collection of heritage buildings and playing fields with St Pauls’ new buildings.
