The Master plan creates a framework to progressively deliver a series of transformative initiatives over the next 20 years to create a recreational precinct that celebrates the rich culture, heritage and natural landscapes.
CONTEXT was commissioned by the NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS) to prepare a master plan for the South Head precinct of Sydney Harbour National Park, one of Sydney’s most iconic and significant landscapes.
South Head is a rich cultural landscape that forms an essential part of the story of Sydney. A story that encompasses Aboriginal culture and place; the story of journey and arrival for Europeans; and a story of protection and defence.
The Master plan creates a framework to progressively deliver a series of transformative initiatives over the next 20 years to create a recreational precinct that celebrates the rich culture, heritage and natural landscapes.
The Master Plan’s vision acknowledges the significance of Place, embracing Aboriginal culture, Sydney’s history and the natural values that makes it a unique part of the national park, developed in collaboration with TKD Architects and the Gujaga Foundation.
