Context has been involved with the conservation and enhancement of the Centennial Parklands for the past 20 years. We have assisted the Parklands Trust in identifying strategic directions for the future of the Parklands, including:
Centennial Park Tree Masterplan 2004
Queens Park Plan of Management 2007
Moore Park Plan of Management 2007
Centennial Parklands Conservation Management Plan 2007
Centennial Parklands Ponds Interpretation Trail 1998
The Ponds Interpretation Trail, designed as a contemporary ‘maze’ with art works has an unfolding narrative about the waterways. It has gained international status and was selected by the Australian Institute of Architects as one of the 40 most memorable contemporary landscapes in Australia.
The competition winning concept tells the story of the ponds through four distinctive themes: water source & ecology, history of pollution; Aboriginal & European use and management & community action.
